Louis Lasser IV
Tap, Partnering, Ballet
Louis Lasser IV is an author and a tap dancer. He’s been influenced and taught by some of the preeminent names in the art form, including Savion Glover and Andrew Nemr, and has performed with Gregory Hines and Omar Edwards. He’s tap danced across the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, Pont Neuf in Paris, and Tower Bridge in London.
His classes focus on rhythm and sound, but are accented by the enjoyment of the movement. Technique, musicality, improvisation, and timing are at the heart of his dance instruction. (The heart stays on its beat, and we should stay on ours.)
Louis has taught long enough that his tenure can order a martini. He likes coffee, conversations, and compassion. He also enjoys long walks on the beach, provided the sand is replaced with a dance floor.
Essential viewing: Tap with Gregory Hines; No Maps on my Taps with Sandman Sims, Bunny Briggs, and Chuck Green.
